On April 16th 2012 I was diagnosed with a rare form of blood cancer called Nodular Sclerosing Hodgkins Lymphoma. With tumors on both sides of my neck (the left side largest one was shaped like pacman when I saw it on the initial ultrasound!), in my chest and under my left armpit I was staged at a 2A (A meaning the absence of 'B' symptoms such as extreme weight loss, night sweats).
On April 24th I started a chemo regime called ABVD. The planned course is 6 cycles of 2 treatments (12 treatments in total) and will take 6 months.
I wanted to write this blog not only to keep my friends and family informed of my journey but also to help others who may be facing the same or a similar battle against cancer. My email is Sona_111@hotmail.com. Please feel free to get in touch, I would love to hear from you.
Update: As of May 13 I have been in remission for 7 months and counting. Life back to normal :)
